Slim Tananda has shoulder-length pale blonde hair that curls inward, with bangs across her forehead. She usually wears a plain pastel green ("tea green") dress, which makes her look staid and demure. In some ways, her washed-out, unremarkable appearance makes her looks like the poster child for a "background character." Her usual facial expression is no expression at all.
Often seen watching events in the background, Tananda does not do very much in the series except exist. It is difficult to find something interesting about her.
This character was given the name Tananda in the fan novel "Scarlett." (Tananda was the screen name of a member of the Infamous Unserious Five, a group of boisterous female Daria fans.) In the story, Tananda was a member of the Lawndale Leopards, a high-school girls' field hockey team known for its violent hard-partying ways. She helped her new friend Scarlett overcome fantastic obstacles during the autumn of their sophomore year at Lawndale High.
A different name for this character is possible. On the other hand, the real-world Tananda likes it that this character is named for her, so maybe the name is just fine.

Note that Tananda's blue dress is identical to her usual dress in all ways, except for its color. This technique was used on many students in this episode, probably to use the same line art and avoid drawing new clothes for them. The blue dress has a white collar.

23. As the maritime disaster unfolds in "Just Add Water," Tananda (center of image) runs for the exit. She ultimate dives into the shallow water and wades ashore like almost everyone else.
25. Tananda sits with Dawn during lunch, both ignoring Daria and Jane (unknown episode). Perhaps Dawn and Tananda are friends (see #9).
26. Tananda looks a bit shocked at her low history test grade in Mr. DeMartino's class ("Murder, She Snored").
