Description

Angel is often called the "girl with the '80s hair" or the "girl with the Farrah Fawcett hair." She is a markedly tall, lean teen with golden blonde hair. Her hairstyle could be called a thick, feathered, medium-length shag cut with a vaguely punk look, if you want to be particular about it.

An attractive girl, Angel's usual attire includes tight-fitting light-blue jeans, a blouse or tee with cutoff sleeves (often appears to be a light pastel color, usually white), and an open gray vest. Low white sneakers and a necklace with a heart-shaped locket complete her ensemble. The style of animation used for her face makes her look wide-eyed in many scenes, as if hyper-alert (hyper-caffeinated?).

NOTE: The Angel shown here is not the same character as the the supernatural entity known as Angel. Do not confuse the two.

Notes

Named for Daria fan Angelinhel, Angel is one of the taller girls in Daria's class. She is often seen in the company of either Shaggy or Dawn, who are probably close friends.

Fanfiction Appearances

Angel appears in "Scarlett" as one of the Lawndale Leopards, an ultra-violent girls' field hockey team from Lawndale High. She is particularly notorious for her aggressive attitude and is widely feared by the field hockey teams of other schools. She becomes a good friend of Scarlett in the story and helps save the Earth from supernatural disaster. (Despite this characterization, Angel is never depicted as a troublemaker in the series.) Other than this, Angel is rarely seen in fanfiction.

Image Gallery Notes

1. Angel first appears in "Esteemsters," seated next to Shaggy in an auditorium in which there are plenty of empty seats. This is interesting because Shaggy was a new arrival at Lawndale High, being with Daria and Quinn in their introductory tour of the school. Angel and Shaggy must have hit it off early on.

2. Angel and Tananda walk past Daria and Jane in "My Night at Daria's," offering one of the better glimpses of Angel in the show.

3. A three-quarters image of Angel from the same scene as #2 ("My Night at Daria's"), giving a better view of her.

4. Shaggy and Angel sit behind the Fashion Club in the school auditorium (episode unknown).

5. Another Shaggy and Angel pairing, behind Daria and Jane in the auditorium again (episode unknown). Rob is next to Angel.

6. Dawn and Angel watch the on-stage antics during the Amazon Modeling Agency tryouts in "This Year's Model."

7. Behind Linda Griffin and Helen Morgendorffer, Angel and Dawn walk into the fund-raising medieval fair in "Fair Enough." They were apparently not assigned any duties.

8. Angel examines her career aptitude test in Mr. DeMartino's class, apparently satisfied with the results, in "It Happened One Nut." The class was apparently not having history that day.

9. Another view of Angel in "It Happened One Nut." She now appears to have a bracelet on each wrist. How odd.

10. A seated view of Angel from "This Year's Model," sitting in the back of Mrs. Bennett's economics class. She never once shows an interest in modeling, though Brittany ("Blue") does a modeling walk past her desk (see alternate image).

11. A curious image from "Pinch Sitter," in which Angel is suddenly sitting where moments before Shaggy had been seated. For more information, see images #7 and #8 on Shaggy's webpage. How did this happen? Is there a supernatural link between the two?

12. Angel sits in the upper center of this image, showing LHS students moments before they burst into song in "Daria!"

13. In the upper right of this LHS cafeteria image from "A Tree Grows in Lawndale," we see Angel, who might have witnessed Kevin Thompson's "miraculous" ability to drop his crutches and walk again after his motorscooter accident. She appears to have been sitting alone.

14. Clad in a violet bikini, Angel dances energetically (Ms. Li in the foreground) in these images from the introductory musical segment of Is It Fall yet?

15. Angel and Three Buttons walk by Daria at her locker in "Prize Fighters."

16. "The Lost Girls": Angel wears a new blue0and-yellow outfit on School Colors Day for Val's visit.

17. "The Lost Girls": As Val, Daria, and Jane walk by, Angel talks to Bob and Burnout Girl in the school cafeteria.

18. Angel and other girls are forced to wait in line in an LHS girls' restroom while the Fashion Club hogs the mirror (The Daria Database).

19. Among the students listening to Ms. Li as she announces a teachers' strike is Angel ("Lucky Strike"). The alternate image gives a wider view of the area.
