Cindy has straight, shoulder-length medium-brown hair that curls in at the bottom and is parted on the left. Her eyeglass lenses are trapezoidal in shape, mounted in thick dark frames. She wears a button-up collared blouse, red-violet in color, that is not tucked into her beige pants. She wears dark gray shoes. Her demeanor is pleasant and generally cheerful, so far as can be told.

This character was based on a member of the MTV staff: the Daria show's producer, Cindy Brolsma. Her first name (only) has been borrowed for the character's name. Her previous nickname here was "Trapezoid Glasses," which was clunky.
Cindy is one of several characters who were consistently portrayed in the series as being in Quinn's classes (and thus her grade), but appear in the graduation ceremony at the end of Is It College Yet? How characters who were juniors in IICY? managed to finish school with Daria and Jane is a puzzle.

1. In the online flipbook, "Daria: The Transformed Staff," the origins of this character are revealed.
2. Jeffy waves to get Mr. O'Neill's attention in class, and we see Cindy one row over and two seats back ("Quinn the Brain").
3. A front view of Mr. O'Neill's class from the same scene as #2 ("Quinn the Brain"). Cindy is receiving her graded homework back.
4. A closer view as Mr. O'Neill walks by ("Quinn the Brain").
5. Quinn decides to wear black, and many of the girls in school do the same, copying her ("Quinn the Brain").
6. In the top row, second over from the left, we see Cindy, her attention to the bridal expo in LHS's auditorium distracted by Kevin Thompson, who has spilled a drink in his lap ("I Don't").
7. We see an excited Cindy in the top left of this image from "See Jane Run." Everyone cheers as Jane Lane wins a track race.
8. An interesting comparison: Val comes to visit LHS, so Ms. Li declares it is School Colors Day. Everyone should wear blue and yellow, and Cindy (near middle of the screen) does, but Daria and Kristen do not. Kristen is the goth girl to the left of Cindy.
9. Cindy stands among many other students outside the high school as Mr. O'Neill gives a presentation ("The Lawndale File"). Moments later, Daria and Jane are accused of being alien invaders from space, and the other students (and possibly Cindy as well) think that might be true.
10. A three-image sequence from "Daria!": Principal Li informs the students in the gymnasium that a hurricane is coming and the next football game is canceled. Cindy sits at the top left of the image.
11. "Daria!": Everyone looks at each other...
12. "Daria!": ...then they break into song.
13. Wearing a dark red gown, dangling earrings, and a new hairdo, Cindy reacts in shock as a fight breaks out between Kevin Thompson and Robert ("Daria Dance Party").
14. "Jake of Hearts": Cindy looks on as a disk jockey broadcasts from the school parking lot.
15. "Jake of Hearts": Same as #14, different scene.
16. "Jake of Hearts": Same as #14, another different scene.
17. "Jane's Addition": We can see Cindy and Josh standing against the back wall of the Zon like wallflowers. They might be on a date. Perhaps they are not as comfortable in this punk/alternative environment as their fellow students Bob and Scarlett.
18. It is difficult to tell, but the most-distant uniformed girl with deely-boppers, holding up a banner with Happy Girl during a homecoming event ("I Loathe a Parade"), appears to be Cindy. This would be a difficult feat for her, however, as she is later shown in the crowd applauding the parade. Other students have cloned themselves, so why not her as well?
19. Sure enough, there's Cindy at the right side of this image ("I Loathe a Parade"). Daria is being pulled back from walking into the street by Ms. Li. Cindy is standing next to Kristen, indicating they might be friends as they have been seen together in other episodes. Sure enough, we later again see Cindy and Kristen together. Both are at the bottom left of the image. Tom and Daria are in the background.
20. Cindy appears to be a loyal Lawndale Lions fan, are you can see her sitting just to the right of the top center of this image from "Fizz Ed," dressed warmly during a cold winter's day. She is sitting next to Dawn.
21. As Quinn frets about personal issues in the cafeteria (Is It Fall yet?), we see Cindy (her back turned) and Kristen to the immediate left of Quinn's head.
22. As the Princess Fairy runs aground and sinks after hitting a garbage barge ("Just Add Water"), Cindy panics (see alternate image, upper left side, looking into the water with horror), then jumps from the deck and finds herself in shallow water next to Adam. Sandi Griffin is in the foreground, getting dumped by her date.
23. Daria, a temporary substitute teacher for Mr. O'Neill after pedophile Ken Edwards was fired, hands back test papers on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. She's been teaching the class in which Cindy and Quinn are a part. Cindy does not appear pleased with her grade ("Lucky Strike").
24. As the last bell rings for the school year, an ecstatic Cindy runs down a hallway at Lawndale High (Is It College Yet?).
25. Is It College Yet?: Graduation comes, but why is Cindy, a junior, graduating now? She can be partially seen behind Jane's head. (The alternate image is larger.)
26. Is It College Yet?: A clearer view of Cindy during the graduation ceremony. (The alternate image is larger.)
27. Is It College Yet?: One of the fantasy time-traveling scenes from the beginning of the movie, showing Cindy and other classmates as college students in the 1970s, drinking beer from a keg during an Animal House-style toga party. (The alternate image is larger.)
